It was announced recently in my state that the governer was giving Microsoft $50 million in taxpayer money to bring 50 jobs to the state.
So with a headline like this: Microsoft issuing emergency browser fix. REDMOND, Wash. - Microsoft Corp. is taking the unusual step of issuing an emergency fix for a security hole in its Internet Explorer software that has exposed millions of users to having their computers taken over by hackers. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28258894/
Is $1 million per job worth it? You would think a state that is in need of millions of dollars and actually cutting there budget right now would rethink and say NO!!!! Microsoft we can't give you the money. This would be the same state that asked Microsoft to pay $179 million in antitrust settlement.
